QA Engineer – API (Back-End Testing)

Requirements and responsibilities

Key responsibilities:

  • Design, execute, and maintain API test cases, both manual and automated.
  • Test RESTful APIs to verify functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Write and execute Postman scripts, including pre-request scripts, assertions, and automated test suites.
  • Automate API test suites using tools such as Postman, Newman, or similar frameworks.
  • Validate API responses, data structures, and integration points with other services.
  • Document and report bugs clearly and collaborate with developers during debugging and issue resolution.
  • Contribute to improving API testing strategies and automation coverage.
  • Work closely with development teams to ensure high-quality backend releases.

Requirements

  • Experience in API testing for backend systems.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and HTTP protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with Postman for API testing and scripting.
  • Experience automating API tests using Newman or similar automation tools.
  • Experience designing and executing manual and automated API test cases.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and troubleshoot backend issues.
  • Ability to clearly document and report bugs.
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • English – conversational level or higher.
