Platform Engineer (remote Europe)

The role

  • Build and own the platform that powers all of Spacelift - from CI/CD to observability to incident response
  • Improve our code delivery pipeline: reduce friction, tighten feedback loops, eliminate flakiness
  • Strengthen our SLOs and observability posture - give every team better signals
  • Sharpen our on-call experience by improving alert quality, response speed, and postmortem hygiene
  • Optimise platform cost and scaling behaviour across workloads and regions
  • Own developer experience internally: from local dev to debugging production
  • Keep learning about our problem space
  • You build it, you run it - you will also be part of the on-call rotation

About You

  • Passion for building products, love for tech, and interest in the problem space (DevOps, Platform Engineering, and Developer Experience)
  • 4+ years of experience in backend or platform engineering, with hands-on experience owning production systems
  • Experience working with Go
  • You have built or maintained CI/CD pipelines, observability stacks, or developer-facing tooling
  • You have been on-call and improved it - not just responded to pages, but fixed root causes and leveled up the process
  • Experience working with an IaC tool - OpenTofu/Terraform, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation
  • You have excellent communication skills
  • Eager to learn new tools and technologies
  • Strong product mindset and big-picture thinking
  • Focused on solving problems, not just completing tasks

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Claude Code, Datadog
  • PostgreSQL/Aurora optimization experience
