Senior Software Engineer- Agentic Platform & Integrations (Full Stack)

In this role, you will:

  • Build foundational capabilities for Samsara’s agentic experiences, enabling AI agents to securely discover data, use tools, integrate with external systems, and execute reliable workflows at enterprise scale.
  • Design systems for high throughput, availability, observability, security, and maintainability.
  • Apply AI assistants, including Codex, Claude Code, and Cursor - across design, implementation, testing, debugging, and code review.
  • Improve frameworks, tooling, and engineering practices that increase the effectiveness of teams across Samsara.
  • Mentor other engineers and contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy.
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
  • Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team

  • Strong professional software engineering experience building and operating production systems.
  • Enterprise experience with at least one relevant area, such as developer platforms, integration frameworks, event-driven systems, data platforms, or analytical reporting infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience operating production software at enterprise scale or high transaction and data volumes.
  • Strong backend engineering skills, including API design, distributed systems, data modeling, reliability, and observability.
  • Experience delivering full-stack functionality and collaborating effectively across frontend and backend boundaries.
  • Expert practical knowledge of AI coding assistants such as Codex, Claude Code, or Cursor.
  • Ability to make sound engineering trade-offs and communicate technical decisions clearly.
