Cloud Infrastructure

  • Own and manage AWS infrastructure across all environments
  • Write and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform
  • Ensure environments are reliable, secure, and cost-efficient
  • Design and implement infrastructure changes that support product growth

CI/CD and Developer Experience

  • Build and maintain deployment pipelines that let engineers ship quickly and safely
  • Reduce friction in the development workflow without sacrificing reliability
  • Automate repetitive operational tasks and eliminate manual toil
  • Support engineers with clear runbooks and infrastructure documentation

Reliability and Security

  • Monitor system health, set up alerting, and respond to incidents
  • Implement and maintain security best practices across cloud infrastructure
  • Own backup, recovery, and disaster preparedness processes
  • Proactively identify and address reliability risks before they become incidents

AI-Assisted Operations

  • Actively use AI tools to improve infrastructure workflows, automation, and debugging
  • Stay current on how AI is changing platform engineering practices and apply it in real work

What You Bring

  • Hands-on experience with AWS across core services (EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, ECS, VPC, IAM, and similar)
  • Strong proficiency with Terraform for infrastructure as code
  • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Genuine, practical experience using AI tools in your engineering workflow, not just awareness of them
  • Prior experience working at a US-based small startup, with a real understanding of what ambiguity and limited resources look like in practice
  • Ability to operate independently, prioritize without hand-holding, and make sound decisions under uncertainty
  • Clear written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical teammates

Nice to haves

  • Experience with container orchestration (ECS, Kubernetes)
  • Familiarity with observability tooling (Datadog, Grafana, CloudWatch)
  • Exposure to compliance or security frameworks relevant to government or regulated environments
  • Experience supporting a product through early growth stages
