KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Code Review and Maintenance: Ability to look at code in their GitHub repos and provide maintenance on them.
- Analysis and Planning: Analyze and develop a plan for each repository to document the code, increase test coverage, and provide a way for proper maintenance.
- Test Coverage: Increase AWS infrastructure test coverage to 90% from the current level of roughly 10% across the repos.
- Leadership in Automation and CI/CD: Lead the design and enhancement of automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines, setting standards for excellence. Containerization technologies such as AWS technologies.
- Advanced Cloud Strategy: Architect and manage complex cloud environments, focusing on performance, security, and scalability. Cloud platforms such as AWS. Configuration management tools such as Terraform and CDK scripting
- Strategic Problem-Solving: Tackle complex system performance issues, employing advanced analytical skills to maintain reliability and efficiency.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelorโs degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- Extensive experience in DevOps, with proficient coding skills in Python.
- Extensive years of experience delivering systems to production, with an emphasis on Infrastructure-as-Code.
- Experience writing and publishing reusable, tested modules or libraries for consumption by other teams and team members.
- Minimum four years of experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery and tools (e.g., Azure DevOps Services, GitHub Actions, etc.), including ability to coach other engineers in the same.
- Experience with integrating security at design time, and regularly evaluating efficacy of security measures.
- Experience performing code reviews, pull requests, and following source control standards such as Git Flow or Trunk-Based Development required.
- Experience designing and delivering two or more infrastructure systems (e.g., Azure PaaS, Azure IaaS, Windows or Linux servers, SAN, Exchange, IIS, Active Directory, Azure AD, etc.) with automation and central configuration management required.
- Experience with multiple database technologies including platforms, authentication, and connectivity. Ability to write more complex SQL queries desired.
- Deep expertise in automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef), cloud platforms (AWS), and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Advanced knowledge in monitoring, logging (Prometheus, ELK), source control (Git), networking, security, and database management.
- Leadership skills with the ability to mentor others, influence cross-functional teams, and lead by example in a collaborative environment.
- Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to foster an environment of teamwork and cooperation.
- Exceptional English communication skills with team members, stakeholders, and customers, ensuring clear and effective exchange of information.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented approach to identifying and resolving system issues efficiently.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently and under pressure, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Experience communicating technical concepts in front of technically adept audiences required.
- Proficient at using systematic debugging to diagnose cross-service issues; end pipeline automation sometimes with help from more senior engineers.
- Experienced in Test Driven Development concepts, methods, and tools. Demonstrated experience in unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing.
- Proficient verbal and written skills to effectively communicate.
- Be available on an on-call basis to respond to pending issues or problems arising during non-business hours and provide support response.
- Must have geographic flexibility to align with global market hours, mainly 9AM to 5PM Eastern time.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE DESIRED
- Advanced certifications related to DevOps, cloud platforms (especially AWS), and Kubernetes, validating specialized skills and knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize efforts based on business impact, highlighting strategic planning and project management skills.
- Proven experience in providing accurate status tracking and reporting, ensuring transparency and effective communication within and across teams.
- Capability to estimate testing and deployment efforts accurately, showcasing an understanding of project scope and timelines.
