Senior Frontend Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior/Lead Frontend Engineer to build highly scalable, dynamic, and programmatic email experiences at the intersection of frontend engineering and lifecycle marketing. You will develop personalized, data-heavy email templates and reusable components using React and Apache Velocity, consume internal and external APIs to drive conditional logic and second-level personalization, and partner with Design Systems to evolve internal tooling toward a modular, AI-assisted self-service architecture. The role requires mastery of responsive HTML/CSS email rendering across clients including Outlook, Gmail, and Apple Mail.

What you will do

• Build personalized, high-complexity email templates and reusable product-specific components using React and Apache Velocity by consuming data from APIs;
• Translate Figma designs into modular, responsive, and reusable code components within email platforms;
• Create, optimize, and segment lifecycle marketing campaign audiences using complex SQL queries and custom APIs;
• Partner with Design Systems to build scalable code frameworks within internal email tooling that pull data from internal sources;
• Deliver dynamically populated email templates powered by live API data and Apache Velocity;
• Ensure fully validated A/B testing setups with complete data and measurement tracking integrity.

Must haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 4+ years of related experience, or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience;
• Proven track record in front-end development;
• Strong front-end development experience using React, TypeScript, and JavaScript;
• Experience integrating user interfaces with backend platforms;
• Strong command of Apache Velocity (VTL), including macros such as #set, #if, #foreach, and #define;
• Experience composing Velocity components and macros into complete email templates;
• Mastery of responsive and accessible HTML and CSS for email clients;
• Proven experience integrating with APIs and formatting data into conditional, dynamic email templates;
• Experience authoring templates for 100+ locales with localized copy and dynamic personalization;
• Experience with Git, command-line tools, and modern IDEs;
• Experience translating Figma designs into modular code components;
• Experience with AWS infrastructure fundamentals;
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab CI;
• Upper-intermediate English level.

Nice to haves

• Prior experience in email development;
• Practical experience using AI developer tools such as Cursor, Windsurf, or Claude;
• Prior exposure to component internationalization (i18n) and localization frameworks.
