Software Engineer (Mobile)

About the role

We are looking for a Mobile Engineer to build and optimize a unified franchisee tablet application using React Native and Expo, strictly focused on tablet form factors across iOS and Android. You will implement hardware-dependent features including camera and barcode scanning for inventory management, optimize application performance for offline capability and low-latency responsiveness, and write clean TypeScript code following Agile delivery practices. The role includes active use of AI tools including Claude and GitHub Copilot as part of the daily development workflow.

What you will do

• Build and ship the unified franchisee portal as a native mobile application optimized for tablets using React Native and Expo for iOS and Android;
• Implement hardware-dependent features such as camera and barcode scanning for freezer and inventory management;
• Optimize application performance for speed, responsiveness, memory usage, and offline capability;
• Write clean, well-tested TypeScript code and maintain high standards through code reviews and documentation;
• Use AI-assisted development tools such as Claude or GitHub Copilot to generate code scaffolding, write and review tests, create documentation, and prototype solutions;
• Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and production issues;
• Participate in Agile or product-centric delivery practices, including sprint planning and retrospectives.

Must haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience;
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience;
• Solid experience developing software with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React Native;
• Deep experience building native mobile capabilities within React Native, including camera and scanning features;
• Experience optimizing mobile applications for offline use and tablet-specific form factors;
• Familiarity with REST APIs and service-based architectures;
• Experience working with PostgreSQL and data persistence concepts;
• Experience developing high-quality, maintainable code while adhering to secure coding standards and industry security best practices;
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills;
• Ability to collaborate effectively within an engineering team;
• Upper-intermediate English level.
