About the role
Are you looking for your next big challenge? We are proactively building a strategic talent pool for several high-priority Shopify Plus projects launching in the coming months.
This role focuses on architecting, developing, and maintaining high-performance eCommerce solutions for innovative brands, working alongside a community of senior engineers in a remote-first environment. You will drive deep code analysis, platform architecture, and eCommerce roadmap strategy while providing Shopify Plus technical support and contributing to rigorous code reviews and engineering excellence initiatives. The role prioritizes understanding the “why” behind the platform — not just writing code.
What you will do
- Develop key system components, identify reusable modules, and optimize delivery times;
- Perform deep code analysis, develop patches, and implement new platform features;
- Research platform capabilities and identify opportunities for the eCommerce roadmap;
- Engage with Product Management on system design, capabilities, and innovative solutions;
- Provide first-level Shopify technical support, troubleshoot critical issues, and conduct incident postmortems;
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and technical validation;
- Work with the broader development team to ensure best practices in security and performance;
- Support Project Management with effort estimates and planning;
- Proactively identify and remove technical roadblocks.
Must haves
- 4+ years of professional Shopify development experience;
- Deep knowledge of Shopify Plus and its unique features;
- Solid understanding of the Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and modern development methodologies;
- Proven experience with page performance optimization, front-end caching, CDNs, and secure development practices;
- Strong ability to diagnose and resolve site issues using commercial and open-source tools;
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;
- Customer-first mindset, patience, and empathy;
- Logical approach to problem-solving, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous learning and adaptability;
- Familiarity with Jira and collaborative development environments;
- Upper-intermediate English level.
Nice to haves
- Proficiency in JavaScript or modern frameworks such as React or Vue;
- Previous experience in customer service or dedicated technical support roles;
- Exposure to Salesforce Commerce Cloud or other enterprise eCommerce platforms.
