Partner with the best
- Database administration; install, configure, upgrade, and migrate existing databases
- Responding to and resolving database related requests from other departments
- Defining database requirements as part of the product lifecycle to influence the new designs and standards
- Identifying data security related issues and help with improving overall security of the database environment
- Providing support, leadership and motivation for project teams
- Collaborating with our support, operations and engineering teams to investigate and troubleshoot complex problems
- Participating in on-call rotations, guiding restoration and repair of service-impacting issues
- Other tasks as required
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Have 4+ years of experience with MySQL/Percona Server with focus on Innodb storage engine and internals and experience in deploying and managing schemas in a distributed high availability environment
- Have experience managing DDL changes in a high volume OLTP environment. Also, possess an understanding of MySQL Replication principles, replication topologies and managing topologies through Orchestrator
- Have experience working with developers helping them with database development including schema design, indexing strategies and query optimization
- Have in-depth knowledge of MySQL and ProxySQL configuration and management, backup strategies and disaster recovery scenarios.
